Children’s Placements & Quality Assurance Manager
Initial 3 month interim contract but with scope to extend up to 6 months

£500 per day (umbrella)

An exciting new interim opportunity has arisen within a Local Authority in the Home Counties for an experienced Children’s Placements & Quality Assurance Manager to support across the provider services portfolio for an initial 3-6-month interim period.
My client has further invested in the team creating this additional capacity role and is seeking interim support whilst they look to appoint permanently to the post. The role will encompass a number of exciting projects including School Placements & Developing a new QA framework.

About your duties as the Children’s Placements & Quality Assurance Manager:
1. Helping Establish a new Children Placement Commissioning functions, including supplier relationships, brokerage, contract management and quality assurance.
2. Develop an operational model to meet SEND placement needs.
3. Develop a placement Quality Assurance framework across Children’s Social Care and SEND placements.
4. Support the development of sufficiency strategies.
5. Support the Strategic Placement board in developing insight into placement usage, cost and impact for children.
6. Establishing reporting mechanisms and a clear information-led approach to the work of the team.
7. This role will require you to work with external providers across Residential Services, IFA, Private Adoption providers and other external placement providers.
8. You will collaborate with social work teams to source best fit and value placements for CYP across the region with a focus on local placements.
9. Oversight of a commissioning team and ability to work with complex placement needs.
Your experience needed as the Children’s Placements Commissioning Manager:
1. Essential to have commissioning experience within Children’s Placements within a local authority or Children’s Trust setting.
2. Evidence of good communication skills and working with external provider services.
3. Able to work on and use own initiative.
4. Proven experience of working with suppliers.
5. Must hold a valid enhanced DBS or be able to undertake a new one.
6. Available references for most recent 5 years' roles.
