The N&W Local Maternity and Neonatal System (LMNS) is looking for an energetic, inspiring, and resilient midwifery professional to lead and inform complex service transformation and quality improvement across the LMNS.
You will have established clinical credibility and a detailed understanding of the three-year maternity and neonatal transformation programme. You will already be an inspirational maternity leader with experience in a range of leadership roles.
Accountable to the N&W Executive Director of Nursing, you will drive system redesign, forging strong relationships with Clinical Directors, Directors of Midwifery, Chief Nurses, and the East of England Maternity Team. You will champion service user voice across the LMNS and work closely with other LMNSs and maternity networks to ensure that both maternity and neonatal services across N&W are consistently delivering improved clinical outcomes. You will lead the safety transformation programmes and learning across our LMNS, in conjunction with clinical leaders from N&W maternity and neonatal providers.
Working within the overall ICS strategic objectives, devise, implement, and monitor the strategy which will set out a core set of principles describing how maternity and neonatal services can be best involved and embedded into the transformation work programmes within the ICS.
Explore the approach to developing an integrated, flexible maternity and neonatal workforce that can deliver high quality and sustainable health and care services at ICS/ICP & neighbourhood levels.
Co-produce the functions of clinical and professional leadership that should be undertaken at system level and describe how these would be delivered.
Ensure visible midwifery leadership at ICS system, regional, and national levels.
Provide expert advice and strategic system leadership to the ICS Programme Leads, Care Professionals Board, and ICP to support the development of an integrated, flexible maternity and neonatal workforce that can deliver high quality and sustainable services.
We expect the successful candidate to maintain a good knowledge of emerging policies from government departments to assist in the thinking and definition of the strategy discussions and to act as the clinical lead for the LMNS.
Develop and support transformation within the maternity and neonatal models of care and pathways.
The role will support a culture across LMNS that is supportive, inclusive, and enables all voices across the membership to be valued, listened to, and heard.
This post will act as the most senior midwife in the Norfolk and Waveney system, having direct responsibility for strategic development and leadership of the LMNS team.
Provide leadership for the safeguarding agenda across LMNS in conjunction with system named/designated professionals.
Contribute to the review and development of existing information management systems and contribute to the development of an integrated approach to project management.
The Norfolk and Waveney System Director of Midwifery & Maternity will deputise for the ICS Executive Director of Nursing at National, Regional, and ICS levels.
