A unique opportunity has arisen and we are looking for a talented & passionate Commis Chef to join our kitchen team and support our current friendly team. The opportunity is within our Country Hotel with 23 rooms in Cumbria, a 120-seater Gastro Pub, a 40-seater restaurant, and a 180-seater function suite, all finished to a very high standard with an expectation of 4 red stars and 2 rosettes in the Pub, and 3 / 4 in the restaurant.
Rate of Pay: Dependent on experience
Responsibilities:
* Takes care of daily food preparation and duties assigned through the superiors to meet the standard and quality set by the Restaurant.
* Coordinates daily tasks with the Head Chef.
* Responsible for supervising kitchen porters.
* Ensure that the production, preparation, and presentation of food are of the highest quality always.
* Ensure highest levels of guest satisfaction and quality of all food being served.
* Knowledge of all standard procedures and policies relating to food preparation, receiving, storage, and sanitation.
* Full awareness of all menu items, their recipes, methods of production, and presentation standards.
* Responsible for hygiene, safety, and correct use of equipment and utensils.
* Ability to produce own work in accordance with a deadline and to assist and encourage others in achieving this aim.
* Carry out any other duties as required by management.

* Self-motivated with a willingness to learn.
* Ability to lead and support other members of the catering team.
* Excellent communication skills.
No live-in accommodation available, and we recommend that you have access to transport as we are remote.
Salary, Hours, and Opportunities:
The positions are full time or part time.
Pay: From £11.50 per hour, dependent on experience.
Expected hours: 1 – 32 per week.
