Description POSITION: Stock Controller GRADE: AT3 LOCATION: Larne Regional Distribution Centre, Northern Ireland A permanent position has arisen for a full-time Stock Controller. Reporting to the Stock and Systems Manager, the successful applicant will be required to work 14-22, 5 out of 7 days per week on 4 week rotating pattern. The Role: Communicate all operational problems to the Stock and Systems Manager on a regular basis, making recommendations for improvement, working closely with warehouse and transport operations. Respond positively and professionally to meet the needs of both the internal and external customer. Ensure effective communication throughout the operation. Ensure communication between customer is maintained and an efficient service given Escalate any issues that are likely to affect the performance of the department, the site or relationship with the customer to the Stock and Systems Manager. Ensure all duties are covered Report accidents / incidents immediately Follow all company and customer procedures and requirements relating to Health and Safety. Ensure physical stock compares against system generated stock books in all areas of the warehouse using pre-set perpetual inventory schedules (meeting deadlines) Ensure stock movement in and out of the operation is documented in a speedy and accurate manner Identify and report all problems to the Stock and Systems Manager on a regular basis, making recommendation for improvement and working closely with warehouse and transport functions Ensure slots are counted efficiently and accurately investigating any discrepancies and resolving accurately. Ensure the recording, keying and reporting of any large stock discrepancies to the Stock and Systems Manager for further investigation Communicate any system errors to Department Managers in line with Company process Undertake such duties as may be reasonably required for the effective operation of the function and the dept. Contribute towards the improvement of processes / methods of operating practices within the site. Work Experience: Sound working knowledge of stock control systems Experience of warehousing and distribution Experience of warehouse management systems Proven track record in effective communication with a client Experience of interpreting and analysing information Excellent PC skills Previous experience of working to strict deadlines The Person: Educated to GCSE level or equivalent including qualification in English and Maths Must be flexible to work all rotating shift times, any day of the week IT literate, especially in Excel and Word Ability to work on own initiative Pay attention to detail, driving by continuous improvement and high standards Flexible approach, able to embrace change and accept responsibility Numerate and accurate Awareness of health and safety rules Desirable: 1-2 years’ experience working in a similar role What do we offer?
