Job Description
Bournemouth Airport is seeking an experienced Facilities & Maintenance Manager to lead our team. With the launch of Jet2's operations, this is an exciting time for the airport as we prepare for Summer 2025.
The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation and maintenance of our airport facilities, systems, and infrastructure. This includes leading a team of in-house maintenance staff and managing external contractors to deliver minor works, capital projects, and asset management activities.
Key Responsibilities:
Minor Works and Capital Projects Delivery:
Oversight of planning, coordination, and delivery of minor works and capital projects, including civil engineering, construction, electrical and mechanical installations, and refurbishments.
Asset Management and Maintenance:
Comprehensive preventative maintenance program for airport core buildings, mechanical and electrical systems, car parks, roads, and surrounding areas.
Health, Safety, and Compliance:
Ensuring compliance with all relevant health, safety, and environmental regulations, including electrical safety, asbestos management, legionella control, and sustainability practices.
Sustainability and Energy Management:
Leading initiatives to enhance energy efficiency and support sustainability goals across airport facilities.
Team Leadership and Development:
Leadership, motivation, and development of a team of in-house maintenance staff.
Reporting and Performance Management:
Regular reports to senior management on project progress, asset performance, energy consumption, and overall maintenance activities.
Requirements:
* Proven experience in facilities management, construction, or engineering, preferably within an airport or similar high-traffic environment.
* Strong understanding of mechanical, electrical, and civil engineering principles, as well as knowledge of airport systems and infrastructure.
* Experience managing capital projects and minor works, with a track record of delivering projects on time and within budget.
* Expertise in asset management, including lifecycle management and preventative maintenance strategies.
* Demonstrated ability to lead and develop teams, manage contractors, and deliver high standards of customer service.
Salary: £60,000 - £80,000 per annum, depending on experience.
