Job summary We are looking for an experienced Children's Speech and Language Therapist to work within our Complex Needs team, which includes assessment and intervention with children and young people both communication and eating, drinking and swallowing needs. The role will involve the delivery of assessments and interventions within specialist settings, clinic and homes and the delivery of training to parents/carers and colleagues. You will be part of a well-established and experienced group of SLTs. Salford Children's Speech and Language Therapy Service provide CPD, supervision, support and mentoring from a range of experienced SLTs across the service. You will be part of a large, friendly, supportive team who are passionate about ensuring that all children and families receive appropriate and timely therapeutic and preventative interventions that aim to safeguard and promote the welfare of children. Due to the nature of the post you will need to be able to travel to different sites as required by the service. Main duties of the job o To deliver highly specialist clinical work as part of a multidisciplinary team. This includes working with children with varying needs in a range of locations including clinics, primary and high schools, special schools, Independent schools and home settings.o To promote health and wellbeing including health promotion and to raise awareness of communication impairments and eating, drinking and swallowing needs.o To be independently responsible for the management of a highly specialist caseload including clients with eating, drinking and swallowing needs.o To take a lead role for the development/delivery of a clinical area in consultation with the Complex Needs Team Lead.o To support Senior staff in developing the service, supervising staff and developing and delivering training.
