Job Summary
Skillful maintenance engineer needed to maintain a newly built warehouse in Hemel Hempstead, ensuring it operates at peak efficiency from day one. Perform regular inspections, troubleshoot issues, and implement preventative maintenance programs.
Key Responsibilities
* Perform regular inspections and maintenance of building systems, including HVAC, refrigeration plant, electrical, and plumbing systems.
* Troubleshoot and repair mechanical, electrical, and plumbing issues.
* Implement and maintain preventative maintenance programs for new equipment and systems.
* Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations in a modern logistics environment.
* Manage relationships with external contractors and vendors.
* Respond promptly to emergency maintenance issues.
* Maintain accurate records of all maintenance activities and repairs.
* Assist in project management for facility upgrades and optimisations.
* Conduct electrical testing and ensure all electrical systems meet safety standards.
* Perform racking repairs and testing to maintain warehouse safety and efficiency.
* Work with warehouse teams to support daily maintenance tasks.
Requirements
* Engineering qualifications, Facilities Management, or related field.
* 5+ years of industrial or commercial facility maintenance experience.
* Electrical testing qualifications (e.g. City & Guilds 2391 or equivalent).
* Racking repairs and testing experience (training provided).
* Strong knowledge of modern building systems, including refrigeration systems, HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and fire alarm systems.
* Familiarity with food safety regulations and OSHA standards.
* Excellent problem-solving and organisational skills.
* Strong communication abilities.
* Proficiency in CMMS.
* Valid UK driving licence and own vehicle for site visits.
Work Schedule
* Regular hours: Monday to Friday, 8:00 to 16:00 (37.5 hours/week).
* Occasional out-of-hours call-outs and emergency responses anticipated (less than 5/year).
Location
* Based in Hemel Hempstead, Hertfordshire, with occasional site visits.
* Available to start in early December 2024.

Salary
£38,000 - £45,000 depending on experience.
