About the Role:
We are seeking a driven and results-oriented Business Development Manager to join a well-established team in Uxbridge, UK. In this exciting role, you will play a pivotal role in expanding our customer base and driving revenue growth across the region.
Responsibilities:
* Develop and execute a strategic business development plan for the Southern region, focusing on new business acquisition and market share growth.
* Identify and qualify new business leads through proactive prospecting, networking, and attending industry events.
* Build strong relationships with potential and existing customers, understanding their unique needs and proposing customized logistics solutions.
* Negotiate and close freight forwarding contracts, ensuring profitability and exceeding customer expectations.
* Manage and develop existing customer relationships, fostering long-term partnerships and maximizing revenue opportunities.
* Collaborate closely with internal teams (operations, customer service, etc.) to ensure seamless execution of freight movements.
* Prepare compelling proposals and presentations that showcase our company's expertise and value proposition.
* Achieve and exceed assigned sales targets, contributing to the overall growth.
* Stay up-to-date on industry trends, regulations, and competitor activity, adapting strategies as needed.
Qualifications:
* Minimum 2 years of experience in a business development role within the logistics or freight forwarding industry.
* Proven track record of exceeding sales targets and achieving business growth.
* Excellent communication, presentation, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
* Strong understanding of international trade processes and freight forwarding operations (air, ocean, road).
* Ability to build and maintain strong relationships with clients at all levels.
* Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
* A self-starter with a strong work ethic and a proactive approach.
* Excellent time management and organizational skills.
* Experience in a fast-paced, target-driven environment is a plus.
* Fluency in English is required; additional languages are a plus.
