Purpose: We are looking for an experienced Finance Assistant to assist the Finance department.
Responsibilities:
1. Support delivery of Accounts Payable in processing and paying invoices.
2. Ensure payment of suppliers on time and respond to any queries or issues.
3. Basic knowledge of standard accounting activities; production of monthly reports, accruals, prepayments, and performance analysis.
4. Organise invoices for authorisation and liaise with staff to ensure invoices are signed off on a timely basis.
5. Support in quality check of reports.
6. Review and undertake project testing processes and requirements.
7. Maintain and update day-to-day financial records, journal postings, and reconciliations.
8. Assist with compiling other ad hoc management and regulatory reports, supporting ad hoc finance tasks as required.
9. Cover and support general ledger reconciliations.
10. Identify incorrect use of general ledgers daily; investigate and resolve discrepancies.
11. Support the Finance month-end process.
12. Generate month-end reports.
Requirements:
1. Strong numeracy, numerical reasoning, and numerical analysis skills.
2. Financial Accounting experience.
3. Highly analytical with a structured and methodical approach to problem-solving and able to translate and interpret large amounts of data.
4. Strong ability to critically review and sense-check data.
5. Strong, positive interpersonal skills and excellent written and oral communication skills.
6. Banking reconciliation experience preferred.
7. University Degree in Finance or relevant subject preferred; ACCA qualified/part-qualified.
8. Proficient in Microsoft Excel; T24 preferred.
