Hand/Machine Seamstress| Bedworth | Full Time - fixed-term contract with the possibility of extension| Monday to Thursday, 7:30 am – 4:30 pm (includes a 30-minute unpaid lunch break; 34 hours per week). They design and make jewellery, embroidery, medals, ribbon & insignia, and a broad range of other identity-based products for state institutions and corporate clients around the world.
Our client's focus is on quality craftsmanship and attention to detail, and they're seeking a talented Seamstress with expertise in machine and hand sewing techniques. If you have additional skills in hand embroidery, that's a major plus!
The role will entail cutting and preparing fabric and components, sewing items using industrial sewing machines and by hand and sewing on badges (applique). Ideally, you'll also bring hand embroidery skills to add intricate and personalised touches to our products.
Are you the right person for the job?
Proven experience in fabric cutting, machine sewing, and hand sewing, ideally in a production environment
Proficiency in applique, badge application, and other hand sewing techniques
Hand embroidery skills are a strong plus and highly desirable for this role
Exceptional attention to detail and commitment to quality craftsmanship
Positive, team-oriented attitude with a passion for textiles and the art of sewing
What will your role look like?
Measure, cut, and prepare fabrics and materials according to specifications
Operate industrial sewing machines to produce high-quality sewn items
Perform hand sewing, including applique and badge application, with strong attention to detail
Apply hand embroidery techniques to enhance items as needed, adding intricate and customized touches (not a must, but highly advantageous)
Inspect finished products to ensure they meet company quality and design standards.
Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment
Troubleshoot sewing machine issues and coordinate minor repairs or adjustments
