Axcis Education are working with a secondary school between Teignbridge and Torbay. The school are looking for a learning coach to work in small group, and in a 1:1 capacity, with children with complex needs who struggle to engage with the curriculum independently. The position is to start in September (or as soon as possible). The school hours are 8.45-3.20 and the rate of this pay for the position is £85-95 a day, depending on your previous experience and qualifications. The secondary school have over 900 pupils on roll, providing education for pupils aged 11-18. The school have fantastic facilities to allow, which enable a broad curriculum to be implemented. Most notably, the school have outstanding sports and performing arts facilities. In their recent inspection of the school, Ofsted graded the overall effectiveness of the school ‘good’ in all five areas on their inspection criteria, which included behaviour and attitudes. For the learning coach position, the school are looking for candidates who meet the following criteria: • Experience of working with children aged 11 or above. • Bubbly, friendly and approachable • Are resilient and can cope under stressful circumstances. • A passion for supporting children with special educational and disability needs.
