Due to the Company’s continued success, we are looking to expand the team in Kidderminster and are seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated Quantity Surveyor. This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to develop their career and become a valued member of the team. You should be positive and enthusiastic having the ability to provide the client with a premium service and the capability to work independently or within a team when required.
This is an excellent opportunity to enhance your career within the smoke and ventilation industry. You would be required to manage costs associated with multiple projects across the organisation whilst ensuring projects are delivered on time and within budget. You will work collaboratively with various teams within the business. You will need to have excellent communication skills.
The role involves:
* Prepare interim valuations and final accounts
* Certify Subcontractor and supplier payments in accordance with contract terms
* Assess and agree on variations and change orders with clients and subcontractors
* Produce and send applications for payment to clients
* Provide financial input and support to projects teams
* Attend site meetings to monitor progress and address commercial concerns
* Ensure compliance with contractual terms, industry standards and regulations
* Maintain detailed records of all commercial activities and prepare regular reports for senior management
Key experience / Qualifications:
* Degree or equivalent qualification in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management or a related field
* Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor within the Mechanical and Electrical sector
* Excellent understanding of contract law and standard forms of contract
Skills and Capabilities:
* Excellent communication and negotiation abilities
* High level of initiative, with a proactive approach to problem solving
* Strong attention to detail
We will offer the following package:
* Working hours: Monday – Friday, 8.30am – 5.00pm (Permanent)
