Do you have recent experience of front line social work or nursing as a practitioner or manager in either CYP or ASC Directorates? Would you like to work in an incredibly varied, challenging and rewarding role? Your role and responsibilities You will cover our out of hours rota covering evenings and weekends, supporting vulnerable children and adults with complex situations from home, as a point of escalation for practitioners undertaking visits to families. Working in the Crisis Help and Risk Intervention Service (CHRIS) is both rewarding and challenging. You will : be required to make judgement calls on escalated queries be on call and prepared to work shifts where you do not stop working for your entire shift either at home or undertaking face to face visits have excellent knowledge and understanding of safeguarding children and adults need to converse, negotiate and support young people and their families who are under stress and/or in crisis and to remain resilient and positive when challenged. You will need: to be a qualified Social Worker or Nurse currently in a substantive Grade 7 post experience of practicing as a Social Worker or Nurse Manager in either CYP or ASC, preferably with knowledge of Safety plans focusing on suicide prevention and self-harm mitigation extensive experience of safeguarding preferably with both children and adults preferably be able to record on S1 excellent verbal and written communication skills the ability to undertake lone working out of hours. The team CHRIS is a risk support service which focuses on the rapid assessment and stabilisation of risk in line with THRIVE and the Signs of Safety framework. As such, interventions and approaches will be focused upon risk assessment, formulation, management and stabilisation as opposed to providing longer-term therapeutic treatment, which is more appropriate for CYP and families to access within other services.
