An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Test Project Engineer to join our team in Solihull.
Based within the Derwent Building, the Fuel System Test department deliver and operate test rigs and equipment for the development testing and production acceptance testing of hydromechanical fuel system components. The Test Facilities capability team is responsible for acquiring new capability and modifications of test facilities to support the testing of the hydromechanical fuel system components and emerging technologies aligned to product line strategies.

Your needs are as unique as you are. Hybrid working is a way in which our people can balance their time between the office, home or another remote location. It’s a locally managed and flexed informal discretionary arrangement. As a minimum we’re all expected to attend the workplace for collaboration and other specific reasons, on average three days per week.
What you will be doing:
As a Test Project Engineer, you will technically lead and manage projects ranging from test equipment to whole test facilities and rigs. You will also:
1. Be responsible for defined technical packages / investigations of work providing delivery against programme milestones within agreed costs, timescale and quality requirements.
2. Write concise, unambiguous requirements and specifications, in line with a systems engineering approach.
3. Develop bespoke system designs to meet the demanding requirements of the units and subsystems under test.
4. Work as part of a team, against demanding timescales, managing both internal & external resources and customer stakeholders.
5. Develop capability through a gated design process including the chairing and supporting of design reviews.
6. Lead any onsite commissioning of test facilities including training and handover to the test operations team.

1. Qualified to a degree level or equivalent in a relevant discipline or qualified by experience.
2. Experience of working in test applications.
3. Working knowledge of the general Health & Safety Standards and safety risk reduction processes (such as HAZOP and FMEA) and design mitigation solutions.
4. An ability to write concise, unambiguous requirements and specifications, in line with a systems engineering approach.
5. An ability to work as part of integrated programme teams to deliver capability as part of a multi-skilled group whilst being the primary technical interface of a work package.
6. An ability to lead multidisciplinary engineering projects would be beneficial.
7. Experience in project management; including project plans, budget/cost and risk in line with customer requirements.
