The Opportunity
The Maintenance Store Person is responsible for organising and running a busy maintenance spares stores function to ensure jobs can be completed efficiently on-time, every time with the correct parts and tools on stock and easily located. This includes ordering new parts and raising purchase orders. The ideal person has the ability to learn and use our computerised maintenance management system (CMMS) and develop a stores location system. An engineering background or working in an engineering stores would be preferred.
In this role, you will:
1. Organise the maintenance stores to ensure there is always the required level of ‘spare parts’ stock.
2. Identify the need for and plan the purchase of ‘non-stock’ items to enable jobs to be completed on time, every time.
3. Ensure efficient spares storage, retrieval and identification systems are in place and easy to use.
4. Monitor and maintain stores stock levels, re-ordering spare parts as required.
5. Maintain good housekeeping and high-quality standards in all tasks.
6. Sign off delivery notes and place orders for spare parts, either online or via the telephone.
7. Undertake routine reporting and analysis of stock levels.
