We have an exciting opportunity for a Health and Safety Advisor to join our Operations team at PCE. As the Health and Safety advisor you will be pivotal in driving PCE’s safe working practices by helping set and maintain high standards of Health and Safety, through monitoring, auditing, training, modifying H&S practices and implementing and improving safe systems of work. The ideal candidate should have strong self-management skills and be able to plan and co-ordinate their own workload in line with business needs and areas that require focus. Location This is a hybrid role, and work will be carried out where it will drive PCE’s Health and Safety culture and compliance. This includes working at our project locations across the UK, our Head Office, in Tamworth Staffordshire or at home. Therefore, a willingness to travel and flexibility is essential for this role. RESPONSIBILITIES Responsibilities including but not limited to: Auditing our construction sites Inspecting and auditing of equipment Influencing and supporting a positive safety culture throughout the business Support the training and development of all staff to ensure awareness and understanding of QHSE Standards and the relevance to their role within the business. Managing day to day H&S on our sites Reviewing and modifying Safe Systems of Work Assisting with preparing and delivering safety inductions, briefings and toolbox talks Promoting a high-level safety performance Monthly KPI monitoring and auditing Conducting site inductions Auditing sites daily closing out any issues and communicating improvements and preventative measures Administration - uploading of paperwork/completing audit and creating league table Educate best practice / lessons learnt Responsible for closing out actions REQUIRED SKILLS Essentials: NEBOSH CSCS Card (Managers) First Aid Experience & Behaviours Recognised H&S experience in construction Ability to make decisions and challenge the ‘norm’ when necessary Ability to work independently Able to mediate risk v's practicality (explain the legal side – but in a PCE way) Experience in lifting equipment Skills & Attributes: Communication and Reporting Proficient in Microsoft office applications Experience with internet systems and database programmes Commitment to self-development Ability to work effectively with all levels within the company Desirables: IOSH (high level) TWS / TWC Construction H&S quality NVQ diploma level 5 - occupational H&S SMSTS Experience working within or interest in working within ISO 9001 / ISO (phone number removed) Ability to feedback constructive information About PCE PCE Ltd is an employee owned, forward-thinking superstructure and façade construction specialist, delivering HybriDfMA ‘system build’ solutions on some of the most exciting and innovative projects in the UK.
