Cranleigh STEM has partnered with a leading R&D coatings business in Buckinghamshire. We are seeking a Graduate Mechanical Engineer to work on cutting-edge coating technology for industries such as nuclear, aerospace, and semiconductors.
The role offers the opportunity to design, build, and commission coating systems across various sectors.
Responsibilities:
* Design, build, and commission coating systems.
* Operate technical equipment to ensure scale-up experiments run smoothly.
* Develop and upgrade equipment.
* Assist with small-scale production projects.
* Collaborate with chemists and engineers on multidisciplinary tasks.
* Analyse data and compile experimental reports.
* Maintain and calibrate R&D machinery and testing equipment.
Requirements:
* Degree-level qualification in Mechanical Engineering or Materials Engineering/Science.
* A strong interest in pursuing a career in engineering, with a preference for practical work.
* Additional understanding of Electrical Engineering is highly advantageous.
* Hobbies or interests in practical work, such as DIY or restoration, are beneficial.
* Understanding of health and safety regulations and procedures.
* Strong planning, organisational, and team communication skills.
* A positive attitude with a willingness to take responsibility.
* Flexibility and ability to communicate effectively at all levels.
* Proven ability to work independently and as part of a team.
