Position overview: As the Kettering Engineering Supervisor you will be a key member of the wider Engineering Team that plays a critical part in supporting the plant's overall business plans and objectives. Your main focus will be to build and lead an effective, cohesive and committed team which will maintain maximum safety, quality and production standards. Part of your role will also be to safely plan, direct and manage the plant engineering systems operations, equipment and management process. Key responsibilities include: Responsible for all maintenance requirements, including unscheduled, planned, and annual maintenance, breakdowns etc. Managing all services, including the safe storage of inflammable or dangerous materials and ensuring compliance with safety legislation and the factories act. Maintaining plant register and statutory registers ensuring a 24-hour coverage for emergencies. Carry out execution of all plant engineering projects from start to completion. Reviewing manufacturing performance to enable experience and knowledge of equipment to be used for modification of current and future equipment. Ensuring that all workshop employees are suitably trained for safety and that they work to company and legislative safety requirements. Control of the permit to work system and for ensuring that suitable and sufficient risk assessments are completed in conjunction with the EHS Manager. Checking and ensuring that tooling drawings are to the standard required, modifying if necessary to ensure results are to company standards. Recruiting of all apprentices, training and monitoring progress of all engineering staff. Record and Unsafe correct conditions/Near Miss, carry out an investigation and reporting in developing plant systems to ensure legislative compliance Provide supervision and corrective feedback to the workshop personnel and effective management of the workshop department, including appraisals and performance feedback. What are we looking for? Experience in a people-leading role in a high-speed, 24/7 manufacturing or industrial company Engineering Level 3 City & Guilds/NVQ/HNC/HND Clear communication across all levels and ability to train colleagues as needed. Working knowledge of the following areas: electrical equipment nomenclature, solid state circuitry, electronics, electrical-mechanical devices, transmission systems, interface units, AC/DC motors, wiring diagrams and schematics, computers and inspection and digital devices.
