We deliver a critical contribution to the Criminal Justice System by providing all court custody and escorting services across four regions and seven areas of England. To ensure we provide the best level of training across the contract we have a highly motivated and dedicated team of training officers, and an exciting opportunity has arisen to join this team as a Training Officer. The role will be part of a Central team assisting all of our Justice and immigrations contracts operating across various sites and locations. Responsible for assisting in the development, creation, and delivery of comprehensive training solutions in accordance with and in support of all statutory, MOJ, company and department requirements.
This will include supporting with Initial Training Courses and mandatory refreshers, to drive standards within the operation. You will also provide advice and guidance to line managers on training and development matters as well as conducting training sessions to engage and inspire the audience, helping to maintain a motivated and skilled workforce to fulfil the needs of contractual requirements.
What you'll need to do the job
The ideal candidate must have excellent organisation and planning skills in all aspects of your daily work, with a keen eye for detail and accuracy. This role will require someone with creativity to enable you to identify, develop and deliver informative and appropriate training programmes that will influence and engage the workforce, you’ll do this by flexing your approach to delivery utilising a variety of different training methodologies. You will also be able to complete training evaluation and knowledge gap checks to ensure the effectiveness of the training programme and its overall delivery, ensuring that there are tangible learning benefits for colleagues within the business. Excellent and confident communication skills are also essential to this role, enabling you to foster positive and meaningful professional relationships with all internal colleagues and external stakeholders where required. The successful candidate will also possess a level 3 award in education and training or be willing to work towards one, similarly they must hold a Use of Force instructors’ qualification, awaiting the results of one or be willing to work towards one.
This role is exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 and all offers of employment are subject to security clearance checks and approval by the Home Office, and satisfactory employment references. It is also Essential for you to hold a Full UK Driving Licence. It will also require regular travel to and from sites across the Justice and immigration contracts which may include overnight stays.
