Job Title: Credit Control Team Leader - Complex Cases

Hours: Office Hours (Monday - Friday, Every 2nd Friday Off)
Job Overview: Talento Group is delighted to be recruiting for our client based in Dumfries who is a specialist in Digital and Cloud Based services. As a Credit Control Team Leader, you will be responsible for leading a team of credit controllers to ensure efficient and effective management of the organisation's credit and collections process. You will play a key role in minimizing bad debt risk, improving cash flow, and maintaining strong relationships with customers.
Key Responsibilities:
Team Leadership:
Lead, motivate, and mentor a team of credit controllers.
Manage the goals and targets set for the team and monitor performance through weekly KPI's and reporting monthly to the Head of Transactional Finance.
Provide coaching and training to team members to enhance their skills and productivity.
Conduct regular performance reviews and address any issues or concerns, this will include weekly ledger reviews and 121s as well as quarterly performance reviews.
Act as point of escalation for your team and take ownership of resolving the issues arising.
Work with the wider business to resolve issues arising from the complex queries the team will be managing.
Credit Management:
Monitor customer accounts and ensure timely collection of outstanding debts.
Investigate and resolve any discrepancies or disputes with customers escalated to you
Spot and report on customers showing signs of payment difficulties, put in place process to monitor and react quickly to customers identified.
Customer Relationship Management:
Assist and support the team to build and maintain positive relationships with customers to facilitate prompt payment and resolve issues.
Communicate effectively with customers regarding overdue accounts, payment terms, and credit policies.
Collaborate with internal teams to address and resolve customer concerns and improve processes.
Reporting and Analysis:
Prepare regular reports on your team's activities, including aging analysis, individual and team performance.
Analyse data to identify trends and highlight areas for improvement in the processes.
Provide recommendations to management for optimizing credit control strategies and reducing risk.
Compliance:
Ensure compliance with relevant laws and regulations governing credit management, including data protection and consumer credit laws.
Stay up to date on industry best practices and market trends related to credit control.
Qualifications and Skills:
Proven experience in credit control, with at least 3 years in a leadership or supervisory role.
Strong knowledge of credit management principles, practices, and techniques.
Excellent leadership and team management skills.
Effective communication and interpersonal abilities.
Analytical mindset with the ability to interpret financial data and trends.
Proficiency in using accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite.
Experience of working within Salesforce and Acumatica would be beneficial.
Working Conditions:
Office-based (Dumfries), working business hours.
Occasional hybrid working may be available
