Temporary to permanent position after 13 weeks. Our client, a well-established food manufacturer in Worcester, is seeking a Maintenance Engineer for ongoing work close to the city center. The role offers regular shifts, with the possibility of permanent employment after a successful 13-week trial. Free parking is available on site.
Requirements:
Previous experience in a production maintenance engineering role is essential.
Working Hours:
* 3-week rotational shift pattern: Monday to Friday
* AM 0600 - 1400
* PM 1400 - 2200
* Nights 2200 - 0600
Pay Rates:
Days:
* £23.05/hr up to 40 hours
* £33.07/hr after 40 hours
* £43.09/hr on Bank Holidays
Nights:
* £24.69/hr up to 40 hours
* £34.71/hr after 40 hours
* £44.73/hr on Bank Holidays
Key Responsibilities:
* Provide engineering breakdown support, execute changeovers, and participate in continuous improvement activities.
* Diagnose operational issues, work with production teams to identify root causes, and implement solutions to improve reliability.
* Perform Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM) and respond to unscheduled maintenance needs.
* Coordinate daily and weekly workloads with the Maintenance Manager and Engineering Team Leader.
* Manage spare parts inventory and reorder as necessary.
* Identify areas for process improvement and suggest efficiencies.
* Adhere to company policies, safety standards, and quality procedures.
* Support technical training of production operators, including changeovers and CIP procedures.
* Operate and maintain production equipment safely and efficiently.
* Ensure effective communication within the team, providing clear handovers and updates.
* Perform any additional duties as assigned by management.
Required Skills and Experience:
* Multi-skilled with strong mechanical and electrical knowledge.
* Experience diagnosing faults in electrical systems, including PLCs.
* Familiarity with predictive and preventative maintenance routines.
* Excellent team player with strong interpersonal skills.
* Knowledge of safety, health, environmental, and quality systems.
