You will have extensive experience and knowledge of caring for patients with a urological diagnosis and provide specialist urological nursing advice hospital wide to support and facilitate high quality, individualised care to patients /clients and relatives/carers in collaboration with the multi professional team. You will act as a resource of clinical knowledge and expertise for patients, their careers, Health Care Professionals, and other agencies. You will also initiate, participate, and contribute at a senior management level to service developments and initiatives. Additionally, you will partner with fellow members of the urology team the post holder will develop, implement and evaluate a seamless specialist service, ensuring that patients with urological diagnosis receive the highest standard of clinical care and have access to the full resources of the multi-professional team whilst receiving all aspects of treatment. Key Skills / Qualifications Professional Healthcare Registration RGN/RN Certificate in urological nursing or working towards First level degree in related subject. Post-basic qualification in urological care or relevant subject Evidence of continued professional development Established leadership skills. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills Excellent practical skills and organisational ability Proactive in approach to developing services. Relevant post registration experience at Band 6 or above, in urology, or similar Has worked as a member of a multi-professional team within a urology setting. Evidence of involvement in benchmarking and audit of services Ability to cope with stress / work under pressure. Ability to manage own workload. Ability to implement new practices and initiatives. Problem solver with organisational and negotiation skills Teaching / educating nurses, AHP’s and/or patients. Understanding of the cancer patient, family and carer issues and their role in service development Experience in working across a variety of settings. Experience of understanding and applying research and audit to deliver clinical practice. Evidence of master’s level learning or prepared to work towards – Desirable.
