Overview
ROLE SUMMARY
The QHSE Station Support Manager (Regional) is a key leader to drive the Zero incident and Zero waste culture within the region, ensuring that operational QHSE delivery aligns with the industry’s and Swissport’s global quality, safety & environment management systems and standards. This role acts with a large station focus but operates as a regional business partner (North, Central, South, Ireland), providing support and guidance to the QHSE Regional Support Manager and the Regional Operations Director (ROD) in all aspects of Quality, Safety, Health, and Environment. The QHSE Regional Support Manager also supports stations within their region to achieve QHSE objectives and develop a strong QHSE culture.
Responsibilities
The following responsibilities are associated with this job role:
1. Proactively partner with the station GM and operational management regarding QHSE related topics.
2. Serve as the station point of contact for QHSE for all Swissport managers in the respective region.
3. Lead and continuously improve Quality, Health, Safety, and Environmental measures and KPIs related to operations.
4. Ensure the region operates with a “Just Culture” as part of its core values.
5. Deliver regular QHSE performance reports to management.
6. Act as a change agent, coach, and advisor for the local management team to drive continuous improvement in QHSE.
7. Build a sustainable QHSE commitment, awareness, knowledge, behaviors, and engagement among regional management and employees.
8. Ensure the highest levels of qualification, skills, and key competencies for the QHSE management team.
9. Plan, prepare, and conduct internal safety audits and monitor corrective actions based on findings.
10. Initiate and/or carry out investigations on occurrences as applicable.
11. Establish and maintain an operational risk register and legal surveillance per country.
12. Enhance experience sharing by promoting resource exchange and support.
13. Lead, guide, evaluate, and develop a high-performing team to achieve business objectives.
14. Communicate effectively with all levels of the business and align the organization towards common goals.
15. Develop and maintain effective business relationships with key stakeholders.
16. Ensure alignment with Swissport’s global QHSE values and strategies.
17. Provide guidance and develop the QHSE management team.
18. Support the local management in developing the regional QHSE strategic roadmap and drive action plans.
Qualifications
* Knowledge of region/country specific laws and industry regulations related to Quality, Health, Safety, and Environment.
* Proven track record in the implementation of QHSE systems and behavioral-based safety programs.
* Successful experience in implementing ISO/OHSAS management systems; certification as an auditor is desirable.
* Operational and general compliance orientation.
