Purpose of the Role
The Management Accounts Assistant plays a vital role in supporting the Management Accountant and contributing to the production and analysis of financial reports. These reports provide senior management with valuable insights into the organization’s financial performance.
Responsibilities
Responsibilities include tasks such as forecasting potential income from new products and identifying areas where cost savings could be made across various processes within the company. Over time, the role is designed to help the individual develop the necessary skills to progress into a Management Accountant position.
Primary Responsibilities
1. Assist in preparing monthly accruals, prepayments, bad debts, and rebates.
2. Support the preparation of financial statements and assist in annual budget creation.
3. Monitor and ensure that spending aligns with the set budgets.
4. Post and analyse fixed assets on a monthly basis, ensuring alignment with budget.
5. Help in the preparation of monthly balance sheet reconciliations.
6. Provide support for credit control and the purchase ledger functions.
7. Analyze financial performance and assist in making long-term financial forecasts.
8. Recommend cost-saving initiatives to improve financial efficiency.
9. Prepare necessary information for audits and external reporting requirements.
10. Collaborate with various departments and management to guide financial decision-making, including system process support for branch operations and adherence to financial procedures across the Group companies.
