Job Description
This position supports the Finance and Records Department in the Europe North Area. The successful candidate is a resource to operational management to help them in their responsibility for internal controls and process risk mitigation. They meet frequently with management and others to resolve issues, discuss areas of concern, and coordinate information gathering and personnel interviews.
For the Europe North Area offices located in the town of High Wycombe northwest of London, we are hiring a highly motivated professional who wishes to contribute to the cause of building the Lord's Kingdom in the newly created Area. Salary will be competitive with the London market.
Responsibilities
We are recruiting a highly-skilled professional to report to the Controller and receive direction from both the Controller and the Area Controls Committee. The successful individual will become a member of a small team integral to the Church's self-corrective mechanism for internal controls and operational efficiency and will:
1. Help establish the new area through reviewing and documenting current or as-is processes.
2. Adapt global policies to the local environment with an emphasis on developing best practice to-be processes and internal controls.
3. Publish area processes and train employees on implementation.
4. Proactively work hand in hand with operational managers to identify, review, and document significant operational processes, which are reviewed and approved by the Area Controls Committee.
5. Ensure adequate internal control environment and review compliance with key controls.
6. Assist to improve operational efficiency and effectiveness.
7. Other tasks as directed by the Controller and the Area Controls Committee.
Qualifications
1. Strong commitment to the mission of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (applicant must be a member with a valid Temple recommend).
2. Has organizational, interpersonal, and project management skills, and exercises wise judgment.
3. Either a bachelor's degree in Accounting (or Finance or related business field) or a professional accounting qualification is required (master's degree is preferred).
4. Extensive financial experience at responsible levels is required.
5. Excellent English language and presentation skills are required. Foreign language skills, especially Portuguese, would be an advantage.
