About us We currently have an exciting opportunity within the Skills and Work Team for a Commissioning Officer In Work Progression. This new role will enable us to continue to build on our success and also bring additional knowledge and ideas into the team. About the Role The post holder will be responsible for supporting the development, delivery and evaluation of a new in-work progression service, which will support residents who are in work and within low income households, to progress in to more skilled and /or better paid work. Activities will include the management, marketing and monitoring of the new in-work progression service; working with partners, skills providers and employers to develop a wider support offer for low skilled /low paid residents who are in work; co-ordinating and promoting self-employment support and supporting the work to promote the real Living Wage with employers. About you Applicants will need to be passionate about the employment and skills needs and voice of residents and employers; proven experience in the development, commissioning, management and monitoring of skills and work services; knowledge and understanding of the adult skills system, preferably within Greater Manchester; an up to date knowledge of the local labour market; strong inter - personnel and partnership working skills; experience of promoting skills and work activities across multiple channels; are able to manage their own workload to deliver outcomes within agreed timescales; and experience of working as part of a team.
