An exciting opportunity has arisen in the key position of Coater Process Engineer. We are seeking a skilled and motivated Process Engineer to join our team specialising in Thin Film Physical Vapor Deposition (PVD) coating for architectural glass.
Our Team
Reporting to the Coater Manager you will join the Fabrication team and play a crucial part in developing, optimizing, and implementing PVD processes to produce high-quality, durable, and visually appealing glass coatings. The role is ideal for people experienced in this field or has a drive and desire to learn.
What You Will Do
1. Develop and optimize PVD coating processes for architectural glass applications to meet quality, efficiency, and sustainability objectives.
2. Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including R&D, production, and quality assurance, to ensure seamless integration of new coatings into manufacturing operations.
3. Analyze and troubleshoot coating process issues, implementing corrective actions to enhance process reliability and product performance.
4. Conduct experiments and data analysis to improve coating uniformity, adhesion, and optical properties.
5. Stay abreast of industry trends and emerging technologies in thin film coatings and apply this knowledge to drive innovation.
6. Document process parameters, standard operating procedures, and best practices to ensure consistent production quality.
7. Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance productivity and reduce waste in the coating process.
8. Lead complex projects in a team-based environment providing coaching and knowledge sharing across the plant.
Who You Are (Basic Qualifications)
1. Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Materials Science, Chemical Engineering, Physics, or a related field.
2. Proven problem-solving skills with the ability to conduct root-cause analysis and implement effective solutions.
3. Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with a strong ability to work in a team environment.
4. Possess a contribution mindset to identify opportunities to continually improve and transform yourself and the business.
5. An open and committed person who will embrace and apply our company culture.
