The Senior Developer is part of the Information Technology Job Family. The grade for the role is D4.
Role Description
A fantastic opportunity for an ambitious Senior Developer, with 8+ years’ experience, to join a thriving pensions technology business. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to play a prominent role in supporting new business and change initiatives for our clients.
The Senior Developer will be required to:
* Lead and mentor developers, testers and other members of the information technology job family including nurturing and encouraging the professional development of junior staff.
* Review work carried out by other developers, testers and business analysts ensuring standards and common practices are adhered to.
* Plan work for your team of developers with project managers – this work will cover multiple projects.
* Develop new and improve existing solutions often working with other developers, testers, and external partners.
* Ensure our software solutions are kept in line with requirements as they change through the software development cycle by: Ensuring coding is to a high standard, has relevant comments explaining what is happening at key points, and is readable and documenting processes using data flow diagrams, sequence diagrams and entity relationship diagrams.
* Own and deliver developer team targets as directed by the Head of IT.
* Assist the sales and client management teams as required.

Essential Skills and Experience
* Minimum of 8 years’ experience as a Developer
* Advanced knowledge of C#, .NET Core, and T-SQL
* Experience using SQL Databases including stored procedures
* Cloud experience using Microsoft Azure
* Management of Junior team members
* Ability to influence and manage senior stakeholders
* Experience of Agile software development methodologies
Desirable Skills and Experience
* Management experience of up to 10 people
* Relevant qualification such as AZ-204
* Experience in Pensions or Financial Services
* Knowledge of web application development – React
