Be part of something bigger – Join our Payroll Team at Vets Now
At Vets Now, we’re proud to care for pets in their time of need and just as proud to care for the people who make that possible. Behind every vet, nurse, and support team member is a dedicated group of professionals ensuring everything runs smoothly. Right now, we’re looking for a Payroll Administrator to join our Finance team in Dunfermline.
If you’re organised, detail-oriented, and love making things happen behind the scenes, this could be the role for you.
What the role involves
As our new Payroll Administrator, you’ll be an essential part of our payroll operations ensuring our people are paid accurately and on time. You’ll work closely with the Payroll Manager and the wider team, offering both administrative and hands-on support.
Your day-to-day responsibilities will include:
* Managing email queries from across the business, providing clear, friendly, and accurate responses.
* Manually preparing payroll records for changes in employee working hours, job titles, or locations – ensuring all changes are correctly recorded.
* Maintaining and updating employee payroll records, keeping everything accurate and up-to-date.
* Liaising with People Services to ensure employee data is consistent and correct across systems.
* Supporting the preparation and reconciliation of manual monthly payroll sheets, ensuring no detail is missed.
* Processing new starter forms for both permanent team members and locums via the HR Portal, helping ensure a smooth onboarding process.
* Inputting report completion dates into the HR Portal – a key part of keeping our records current and complete.
* Providing administrative payroll support across the wider Payroll Team – no two days are the same.
* Helping with ad hoc payroll duties as required – from running reports to supporting wider finance and people projects.
Who we’re looking for
Payroll experience is preferred, but not essential, we’re happy to provide full training on our systems and processes. What matters most is your attitude and approach. We’re looking for someone who:
* Is enthusiastic, self-motivated, and keen to learn
* Has excellent communication skills and a strong sense of initiative
* Is comfortable managing multiple tasks and deadlines at once
* Has great attention to detail and takes pride in accurate work
* Is confident using Microsoft Office, especially Excel and Word
Why Vets Now?
