We are seeking a dynamic, and high energy Teacher of Economics.
The postholder will teach A Level Economics alongside the Head of Economics. The subject is offered as a Sixth Form option, but the department also interacts with lower years through cross-curricular projects, whole-school events and PSHEE lessons on money management and personal finance.
The department runs an annual Economics Dress-Up Day, an international trip to The Netherlands, alumnae talks, movie nights, a currency competition, streams Economics conferences and supports students entering essay competitions.
The department is supported by Economics Prefects (currently there are four) who help out by offering academic support, organising extracurricular activities such as theme days and alumnae events, and leading assemblies that promote the subject to the younger years.
One of our teams came as national champions in the GAIN competition in 2024, and another team came in the top 10 nationally.
We encourage you to open our candidate pack to see more about this position and The Abbey.
This is a full time/part time, permanent position starting September 2025.
