Role Overview:
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Registered Children’s Home Manager to oversee the day-to-day operations of a residential children’s home based in Kirby. You will lead a team of skilled professionals, ensuring that we provide the highest standard of care, safeguarding, and support to children in need. The successful candidate will have strong leadership skills, a clear understanding of regulatory standards, and a commitment to creating a positive and inclusive environment for both staff and young people.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Manage and lead a team of care staff, ensuring high standards of care and support for the children and young people in our home.
2. Oversee the delivery of individual care plans and promote the emotional, social, and educational development of each child.
3. Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations, policies, and safeguarding procedures (Ofsted, Children’s Homes Regulations 2015, and the Quality Standards).
4. Provide leadership in recruitment, training, and development of staff, fostering a supportive and motivated team.
5. Develop and maintain strong relationships with external agencies, families, and local authorities.
6. Maintain effective monitoring and reporting systems to ensure the home meets its objectives and regulatory requirements.
7. Ensure a safe, welcoming, and homely environment is maintained for both staff and young people.
About You:
To be successful in this role, you will need to meet the following requirements:
1. Level 5 Diploma in Leadership and Management for Residential Childcare (or equivalent).
2. Proven experience in managing children’s residential care services, ideally as a Registered Manager or Deputy Manager.
3. In-depth knowledge of the Children’s Homes Regulations, Ofsted inspection framework, and safeguarding practices.
4. Strong leadership skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire a team.
5. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a commitment to building strong relationships with young people and professionals.
6. A deep passion for making a positive difference in the lives of children and young people.
7. A full, clean driving license (desirable).
