Cyber Security Engineer
Manchester or Ruddington – hybrid working model (2 days a week onsite and 3 days remote)
The Cyber Security Engineer role will be key to our approach to Security engineering at Smart DCC. The Cyber Security Engineer role will involve managing the toolsets, processes and capabilities required to effectively deliver a world-class security operations Centre. Responsibilities for the Cyber Security Engineer will include managing the security engineering toolset. The Cyber Security Engineer will be focused on developing and maintaining the technology and capabilities we have deployed.
What will you be doing?
1. Establishing relationships with key stakeholders in Risk, Technology and Operations, as well as establishing yourself as a SME for Cyber Security within the organisation.
2. Working very closely and building strong relationships with our Service Providers.
3. Run advanced and predictive analyses and perform assessments based on the Mitre ATT&CK framework.
4. Correlation monitoring using multiple SIEM technologies to ensure that the SOC achieves its objective of being a threat-led organisation.
5. Work independently and provide guidance and training to others on analysing data trends for use in security use cases to guide the development of the Security toolset.
6. Conduct security assessments regularly to identify vulnerabilities and perform risk analysis.
7. Create artificial intelligence algorithms that identify potential patterns or indicators of compromise in security logs, to be used in the defence of the environment.
What are we looking for?
1. Extensive experience as a Cyber Security Engineer or similar role.
2. Expert knowledge of both AWS and Azure security controls and the ability to design and implement all security controls.
3. In-depth understanding of the cyber threat landscape and advanced adversary tactics.
4. Expert knowledge and experience of Linux, Windows, Azure, AWS, Elastic Search, Vulnerability management, and Mitre ATT&CK.
5. Excellent experience with NW configuration, Routing, Transit Gateways, Private endpoints, and log collection specifically Cloud watch, Cloudtrail, and S3 buckets.
