Senior Utility Surveyor vacancy in Crawley (228jc)
Salary: up to £50k depending on experience + Benefits
My client is a forward-looking company based in West Sussex, with a regional office in the Midlands. Their industry is fast-paced and challenging, requiring resilient, hardworking people to deliver quality outcomes to their clients.
They work collaboratively to achieve success and are developing innovative solutions to their clients’ needs, providing surveys in traditional Computer Aided Design (CAD), Geographical Information System (GIS), and Building Information Modelling (BIM). They have been involved in projects such as Terminal 5 at Heathrow Airport, HS2, Silvertown, British Library, Olympic Park, Gatwick Airport, and Hinkley Point C.
Due to continued growth, they are looking for a Senior Utility Surveyor to join their team.
Your duties will include but are not limited to the following:
1. Working with modern survey methods and survey devices such as total stations, GPS, and data collectors.
2. Accurately and consistently recording underground utility assets and manhole inspection reports.
3. Providing the Project Managers and CAD Operators with completed utility survey reports in line with Vision Survey and industry standards.
4. Building and maintaining client relationships ensuring we deliver to our client’s expectations.
5. Assisting with detailed field and office surveying assignments.
6. Checking the quality of information collected on site, and the successful transition to deliverables.
7. Ensuring that all survey kit is maintained and well kept.
8. Taking responsibility for other surveyors and junior team members whilst onsite and in the office.
9. Any other duties as required by the business.
Experience/Requirements:
1. This can be a fast-paced environment that changes quickly, so candidates need to be able to adapt to change and prioritise workloads.
2. They want somebody who can multi-task, be adaptable, and become a valuable member of our team.
3. Experienced in the use of Electromagnetic location and ground penetrating radar, along with GOS/GNSS acquisition.
4. A good understanding of common industry practices and standards in regards to utility detection, such as PAS 128 and TSA.
5. Good working knowledge of surveying equipment, such as GPR, CAT, and genny utility detection equipment.
6. Flexibility to travel to our sites nationwide.
7. Able to work collaboratively in a team and deal with clients on site.
8. CCTV/Drainage Operatives willing to learn surveying skills will also be considered.
9. Clean & Full driving License.
Desirable:
1. CSCS Card holder (This will be required before starting work).
2. Total Station Experience.
3. GPR Post Processing Experience.
4. AutoCAD / N4CE experience.
5. Topographical Surveying Experience.
6. Laser Scanning Experience.
7. QCF Level 3 or Level 5 for utility mapping.

In return, they are offering an excellent starting salary of up to £50k depending on experience, 23 days per annum plus bank holidays (They have a shutdown between Christmas and New Year, and you will be required to take holiday from your annual allowance during this period. You will be notified each year of the dates of annual closure), 40hrs per week, Private Medical and Life Insurance, and company perks as well as a Workplace Pension Scheme (statutory contributions).
