One of the country's longest-established independent health and safety consultancies is looking for a principal designer to join their rapidly growing team.\n\nThey specialise in providing comprehensive health and safety services, including Principal Designer roles under the Building Safety Act, CDM 2015 Regulations, and a broad range of consultancy services. Some of their clients range across sectors such as health, retail, education and energy.\n\nThe Principal Designer Role\n\nThe successful Principal Designer will play a crucial role in ensuring compliance with the new Building Safety Act (2022) across various construction projects.\nActing as the Principal Designer, providing expert guidance on safety regulations throughout the design and construction phases.\nEnsuring all projects comply with the latest safety standards and regulations under the Building Safety Act.\nCollaborating with clients, architects, and contractors to identify and mitigate design risks.\nPreparing and reviewing essential safety documentation, including safety case reports and building safety certificates.\nConducting regular site inspections and safety audits to ensure continuous compliance and improvement.\nThis role offers the opportunity to work on a diverse portfolio of projects, from residential high-rises to large commercial developments, within a reputable and supportive consultancy. \n\nThe ideal Principal Designer will have\n\nExtensive experience in Principal Designer roles.\nIn-depth knowledge of the Building Safety Act and related safety regulations.\nA background in construction, engineering, or architecture.\nRelevant qualifications such as NEBOSH Construction Certificate, APS membership, or equivalent.\nStrong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with multiple stakeholders.\nA proactive, detail-oriented, and client-focused approach.
