Working for the Catering department, the post holder will be required to work in Retail Catering and the Patient Meal Service if required. The post holder will be required to provide a polite, courteous and helpful service to all customers, including patients and staff.
The main elements of the role are to ensure the delivery of food and beverage services to staff, patients, and visitors throughout the day.
The post holder is expected to comply with Trust Infection Control Policies and conduct him/herself at all times in such a manner as to minimise the risk of healthcare associated infection.
Main duties of the job
As a key member of the Royal Devon University Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust, you will be joining an exceptional team working together to help our patients to stay healthy, when they need it most.
The Retail Catering department operates multiple outlets across the hospital providing over 2000 meals per day to patients, staff, and visitors.
We are looking for enthusiastic, hardworking, reliable individuals who work well in busy environments and have the ability to work unsupervised.
Full training will be provided enabling you to work confidently in any of the catering areas within the hospital, including vibrant restaurants, cafés, sandwich bars, and coffee shops.
Your main duties will include:
1. Making barista style coffees
2. Serving hot food & beverages
3. Basic cooking of some hot food products
4. Cash handling and till operation
5. Dishwashing and associated cleaning duties
6. Preparing, delivering, and setting up hospitality requirements
The post holder will be required to ensure the provision of an efficient, hygienic, and quality service while meeting the needs of all our customers.
You will need to be flexible and have an excellent commitment to customer care.
Working Pattern: 37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday 07:00 - 15:00
