The post holder will support the multi-disciplinary team co-ordinators in the provision of administrative management to the Cancer Multi-Disciplinary Teams.
The post holder will work as part of the Cancer Services Team by collecting information on appropriate cancer site-specific patients and entering it onto the CANISC, WCP datasets and Tracker 7 databases, enabling the specialist teams to monitor their activity, clinical outcomes and performance against the National Cancer Standards and Patient pathway targets.
The post holder will maintain accurate databases containing cancer information, and carry out routine data validation and cleansing. They will be aware of, and report to the Cancer Services Supervisor, any issues or problems relating to data quality and completeness.
Main duties of the job
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a cancer information assistant based at the Royal Glamorgan Hospital.
The successful candidate will proactively assist with managing patients through their Urgent Cancer pathway. The post holder will work with a variety of staff and departments to ensure appointments, diagnostics and treatment are booked, reported and available in a timely manner to meet the needs of the patient, service and national targets.
We require a hardworking, motivated individual who has excellent communication skills, is IT literate, and has a good knowledge and understanding of computer packages.
Great organisational skills and the ability to manage and prioritise their work accordingly is paramount.
You must possess a high level of attention to detail and accuracy, and an understanding of patient confidentiality and sensitivity is a must.
The job role is varied and requires individuals who can adapt well, meet deadlines, and be able to work in a fast-paced environment.
The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; English and/or Welsh speakers are equally welcome to apply.

Salary: £24,433 to £26,060 a year per annum, pro rata.
