Job Title: Student Development Manager Salary: £38,000 Duration: Permanent Hours: Full time, Monday to Friday Location: Cambridge Role Purpose: To lead the development and delivery of personal development programmes and student support services, shape and implement the personal development programme for students, adult learners and apprentices, oversee enrichment activities and student voice initiatives and manage dedicated teams to ensure exceptional support and successful progression for all stakeholders. An enhanced DBS will be completed prior to starting this role Key Duties: Lead the Personal Development Calendar: Plan, develop, and deliver a comprehensive personal development calendar, ensuring topics, events and activities align with Ofsted requirements and provide a relevant, impactful programme. Develop Tutorial Resources: Create and maintain high-quality, level-differentiated tutorial materials for all provision types, in collaboration with curriculum and quality teams, ensuring consistency and effectiveness Tutor Training: Design and deliver targeted training and coaching for tutors on various topics and other aspects of personal development delivery to enhance their support capabilities. Event Coordination: Plan and execute key cross-college events such as Freshers Fairs, enterprise competitions, and activities that promote personal development. Support Student Induction: Ensure the availability of resources that contribute to a seamless and enriching student induction experience. Student Voice Leadership: Oversee student voice initiatives, including recruiting and training student representatives, organizing departmental boards and delivering an annual student conference. Enrichment Programme Development: Coordinate and enhance the cross-college enrichment offer, monitoring student and apprentice engagement while working with departments to embed relevant activities and boost participation. Support Students Union Executives: Provide guidance to Students Union Executives to effectively promote their initiatives, increase student engagement, and drive relevant voice and enrichment programmes. Line Management: Undertake line management responsibility including performance, holiday and sickness reporting, 1:1s, appraisals and probation reviews. Key Skills/Experience Required: A degree or equivalent qualification in a relevant field. Evidence of continuous professional development. Qualified to minimum Level 2 standard in English and Maths Good basic knowledge of IT packages A relevant Level 3 qualification or substantial supervisory experience Proven experience in managing personal development programmes within an educational or young people service setting Experience in successfully leading and managing teams Experience in developing and delivering training programmes Experience in coordinating student enrichment activities and student voice initiatives Successful experience of working with young people to motivate and inspire them For more information or to apply please send your CV or contact Morgan Parkes Recruitment.
