About the role
SSE Thermal have a fantastic opportunity for a Production Technician to join our Operations team at Keadby. You will be part of a small operational shift team reporting into a Team Leader with operational accountability for Keadby 1 and 2 Power Stations.
The key responsibilities of the role are:
1. Carrying out various operational activities including pre-start checks, start-up, shut-down and routine tasks. These tasks are both control room based and local to plant.
2. Ensuring the power stations meet SSE's availability targets and are operated in line with internal and external compliance requirements.
3. Completing various authorised roles under SSE's Safe System of Work, including isolation, testing and setting to work.
What do I need?
To be considered for this role, we would love you to have:
1. A formal qualification in an operational and/or engineering related discipline. You should preferably have experience of working in an operational role, working on large scale processing plant. Experience in delivering the accountabilities outlined would be advantageous.
2. Excellent communication skills with great interpersonal and relationship building skills.
3. Ability to problem solve and work independently.
4. As you will be required to travel to different sites and attend training off site, it is essential that you have a full driving licence.
