We have an exciting opportunity within our inpatient unit in Wokingham Community Hospital,for aBand 4,Senior Multi Therapy Assistant(SMTA),working within our therapy team, rotating between Occupational Therapy and Physiotherapy.
We are looking forenthusiasticstaff with experience, with a warm personality and great people skillsto bean integral member of the multi professional inpatient teamwhowillsupport thepatientsthrough their rehabilitationandmaintenance while an inpatient.Along sidethe therapy aspect you will have knowledge and understanding of the patient’spathway andassistinplanning and implementing progressive treatment plans and discharge planning, working alongsideexternal partners too.
Our SMTA’s may also have the opportunity fordevelopment through our apprenticeship programmes.
• Work closely as part of theMulti DisciplinaryTeam for the care of patients
• Ensure that patients taken on through the service are managedin accordance witha clear care planidentifyingtheir needs and ensuringappropriate actionsare taken
• Carry own caseload of patients, to implement prewritten treatment plans.
• Assistthe patient to recognise when their personal agreed goals have been achieved.
• Discuss patients’ progress while on the service and review with the multi-disciplinary team as appropriate
• Contribute andparticipatein professional development meetings
