Quality Control Technician
Location: Based in Pontefract, moving to South Leeds in May/June 2025
Contract: Fixed Term 12 months (Maternity Cover)
Salary: £25k + Benefits

My client is recruiting a Quality Control Technician to join their expanding team. This role is to ensure the safety, quality, legality, and authenticity of products through Quality Control systems and procedures when applied to incoming stock and outgoing samples to customers. Training will be given, however, candidates will need to be available to start work in March, possess strong communication and organizational skills, and have a driving license due to location and travel to their warehouse based in Ossett.
Responsibilities
* Preparation and dispatch of commercial samples to customers
* Conduct QC parameter testing of incoming ingredient samples
* Analyze QC testing results and create company Certificates of Analysis
* Organize samples for external laboratory testing
* Travel to the warehouse (based in Wakefield, use of company vehicle) to take samples and retrieve sacks or samples
* Assist in completion of customer SSAQs
* Update traceability information for samples onto the company IT system
* Monitor and control stock, samples, and consumables used in the Sampling area
* Organize and document retained samples storage
* Monitor and chase incoming supplier Certificates of Analysis and transfer data to the IT system
* Help monitor and chase due diligence documentation from suppliers as requested
* Work closely with the Quality Coordinator in updating and implementing the company's testing regimes
* Document control and recordkeeping
* Assist in possible quality issue investigations
* Deputize Quality Coordinator responsibilities in case of absence and holiday (where trained)
* Keep the sampling and testing area clean, hygienic, and tidy
* Deliver the Customer Charter Principles and company values
* Assist with other Quality Dept administration or improvement initiatives when required
About You
This is a 12-month fixed term contract, therefore an immediate start is essential. You will need to have a driver's license and preferably a car due to the location. You will need to demonstrate excellent attention to detail and a willingness to learn. Good communication skills are important, as you may speak to a customer on the telephone and need to communicate with internal departments.
