About the Role: BIMM University is seeking experienced lecturers and industry experts to join us on a freelance basis for our new BA (Hons) Games Art & Technology and BA (Hons) Games Design and Development degrees. You will be part of a talented team of games professionals and educators in a vibrant and supportive environment at our Brighton campus. There are opportunities for regular teaching on both short-term and long-term bases, as well as cover teaching and guest lecturing on an ad hoc basis. BIMM provides internal training and professional development for all lecturers, especially those new to teaching. While a graduate or postgraduate qualification is advantageous, it is not a requirement. You will play a key role in delivering high-quality education to our students, equipping them with the skills and knowledge necessary for a successful career in the games industry. Opportunities are available across the following subject areas: • Game Art • Game Design • Character Art • Level Design • Game Engines • Visual Scripting • Narrative Design • Prototyping What You’ll Do: • Design and deliver engaging, comprehensive sessions in games. • Provide practical demonstrations and workshops for students. • Contribute to assessment and the marking of student work, offering constructive feedback. • Stay up-to-date with industry trends and integrate them into the curriculum. • Mentor and support students, fostering their professional growth. • Collaborate with colleagues to develop and enhance course content. What You’ll Bring: • A graduate or postgraduate qualification in a games-related subject. • A qualification in education is advantageous but not essential. • Significant teaching experience (higher education experience is preferred but not required). • Substantial industry experience in games development. • Strong communication and organisational skills. • A commitment to fostering a positive learning environment. • A flexible approach to work. Contractual Hours: Freelance, variable hours depending on subject area and student numbers.
