As part of ourcontinued growth, we are looking for a Higher Level TeachingAssistant - Vocational Skills to join our amazing team atHillingdon Manor School, part of Options Autism.
Job Purpose
To provide a high quality education service to pupils andin accordance with Company policies, procedures and practices andthe standards set by the Regulatory Body by complementing theteachers’ delivery of the School’s Curriculum framework and workcooperatively with teachers, pupils and other supportstaff.
Responsibilities
* Undertake activities with individuals, groupsor a class of pupils in order to facilitate their physical,emotional and educational development within a safe environmentusually under the supervision of a teacher
* Carry out pre-determined educational activities and workprogrammes ensuring that specific guidelines are followed whilstpromoting independent learning to support the pupils'understanding.
* Help pupils make progress in arange of classroom settings, ensuring all pupils have equal accessto opportunities to learn and develop
* Contribute to the preparation and planning of lessonsincluding developing resources and opportunities for pupils tolearn in school and out-of-school contexts in accordance withlesson plans and in response to pupil need
* Prepare and deliver vocational lessons and deliverspecific interventions to pupils
* Providedetailed verbal and written feedback on lesson content, pupilresponses to learning activities and pupil behaviour, to teachersand students
* Use behaviour managementstrategies, in line with the school’s policy and procedures, tocontribute to a purposeful learning environment and encouragestudents to interact and work co-operatively with others
Essential:
* Qualifications relevant to the role
* Experience of working in an SEN environment
* Experience of working with pupils with Autism (highlydesirable)

At Hillingdon Manor, weprovide specialist education for 185 pupils, aged between 3.5 and19. Located across two sites. Our Secondary School supportsaround 125 pupils. Our pupils are taught in smaller class sizes andall pupils work towards a variety of qualifications dependent ontheir needs and ability. This role will have responsibilityfor teaching pupils who are aged 11 - 14, but work at a variety ofdifferent levels, so we welcome applications from teachers withPrimary level SEN experience.
