Healthwatch Bury is the independent champion for people who use health and social care services. We ensure that service users and the public are at the heart of decision-making, improving health and social care for all in Bury.
We are seeking a dynamic and passionate Chief Officer to lead Healthwatch Bury, inspiring our dedicated team and volunteers to achieve our strategic goals. If you have the vision and drive to make a real difference to the lives of people in our community, we want to hear from you.
Key Responsibilities
1. Provide strategic leadership to Healthwatch Bury, developing and implementing operational plans to achieve our mission.
2. Oversee programme management, ensuring compliance with contractual and statutory requirements.
3. Lead, manage, and develop staff and volunteers, fostering a culture of excellence and continuous improvement.
4. Build strong partnerships with local health and social care providers, commissioners, and community groups.
5. Represent Healthwatch Bury at strategic meetings and public forums, amplifying the voices of service users.
6. Manage budgets, identify new funding opportunities, and ensure the financial sustainability of the organisation.
7. Oversee the development and delivery of engagement activities to capture public experiences of health and social care services.
We are seeking someone with:
1. Proven leadership experience at a senior level, ideally within the voluntary, statutory, or independent sector.
2. A track record of strategic planning, change management, and delivering measurable outcomes.
3. Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills to inspire, persuade, and influence diverse audiences.
4. Strong financial management skills, including setting and monitoring budgets and putting together funding bids.
5. A commitment to tackling health inequalities and engaging with diverse communities.
