Overview of role:
* CI manager is a key role with responsibility to deliver process innovation and continuous improvement initiatives within a busy FMCG manufacturing facility.
* Strategic lead and role model of Continuous Improvement within the Multi-disciplinary team including cross-functional support aligned with operations engineering and technical.
* Leading and/or facilitating the improvement road map and removing roadblocks.
* Working to implement improvements within the local area and share best practice across the sites.
* Use workplace organisation techniques to improve process flow and eliminate waste.
* Lead improvement activities and quantify both the tangible and non-tangible benefits delivered.
* Coach and train team leaders and team members on process improvement methods and activities.
* Lead internal trainers to develop and deliver training and improvement workshops on LEAN methodologies and continuous improvement thinking, tools, and techniques, including SOP review and update.
* Develop and implement strategies to improve efficiency and quality.
* Analyse data to identify trends and areas of opportunity.
* Create an understanding of VA & NVA activities and processes & prioritise projects that eliminate WASTE.
* Monitor progress of Continuous Improvement initiatives and prepare reports detailing findings and recommendations.
* Develop and lead Autonomous Maintenance routines for key production lines.
* Lead and direct 5S activities for production areas.
Responsibility
* Lead safety behaviours to deliver HSE KPIs.
* Ensure activities are legally compliant through the effective application of policies and procedures.
* Ensure audit readiness at all times, maintain site standards and improve.
* Deliver focused improvement projects with cross-functional teams.
* Ensure input to Autonomous Maintenance and Set Up Time Reduction to optimise the cost of production.
* With the MDT drive targeted improvements to deliver quality KPIs guiding and facilitating team members with the appropriate CI thinking, tools, and techniques.
* To track, measure and report on the progress of Continuous Improvement initiatives within the organisation against set targets/goals.
* Support, enable and execute the production plan on time in full, driving continuous improvement.

Skills, Knowledge, Experience
Essential or Desirable
* Significant experience in FMCG in a leadership role (E)
* Experience of designing and implementing a framework of continuous improvement in an organization (E)
* Excellent understanding of continuous improvement concepts including Six Sigma, Lean, Value stream mapping (E)
* Experience of supporting projects throughout the project lifecycle (E)
* A sound understanding of CI tools and techniques through training course attendance and subsequent demonstrated improvement delivery (Loss and Waste, Facilitating profit improvement plans (DMAIC), RCA, SMED, delivering operational improvement through AM and 5S principles supported by the creation of clear and concise SOPs) (E)
* Possesses appropriate problem-solving qualifications (Green Belt/Black Belt/Six Sigma) (D)
* Ability to prepare, lead and facilitate continuous improvement sessions with a range of key stakeholders including experience of processes/value stream mapping and business flow charts (E)
* Evidence of successful change management through people (E)
* A proven track record of working effectively cross-functionally and ideally in a matrix organisation (E)
