Quantity Surveyor - New Build Housing
Nottinghamshire/Hybrid working
£45,000 – £55,000 + Car/allowance + Bonus
Perm Role
The office is based in Staffordshire but the sites are East Midlands based.
Due to internal promotion and growth within the team my client, a successful privately owned developer is looking for an experienced Quantity Surveyor to join their team reporting into the Commercial Manager.
Role Summary
To oversee the procurement and cost management for residential developments, ensuring efficient budgeting, cost control, and profitability. This role involves developing site start budgets, managing sub-contract processes, and collaborating closely with build and site teams to support the successful delivery of projects.
Key Responsibilities:
* Lead the procurement of sub-contract orders for new developments, including sending out inquiries, reviewing bids, and securing optimal trades for each project.
* Work closely with site teams to address any project issues.
* Use the COINs database to generate monthly CVRs (Cost Value Reconciliations), ensure cost-to-complete accuracy, and manage commercial budgets in line with accounting schedules.
* Oversee sub-contractors to ensure full adherence to project specifications.
* Uphold the 5-Star Builder status
Skills and Experience
* Minimum 2 years in a similar Quantity Surveyor role, with at least 3 years in the residential construction industry.
* Strong analytical approach to identifying and managing project costs, risks, and opportunities.
* Experience with the COINS system.
* Passion for residential developments and a strong understanding of project requirements.
