Key Responsibilities:
1. Leadership & Administration: Oversee all administrative functions within the department, maintaining excellence in service and patient care.
2. HR Excellence: Uphold the highest standards of HR policies, ensuring a supportive and compliant work environment.
3. Staff Recruitment & Training: Participate in recruitment, selection, and training processes to maintain optimal staffing levels and ensure staff are well-prepared for their roles.
4. Attendance Management: Monitor and record sickness and absence details in line with Trust policy, addressing persistent issues appropriately to ensure continuity of service and support for individual staff members.
5. Leave Coordination: Authorise and coordinate annual leave arrangements for all staff, ensuring smooth operations and adequate coverage.

Person Specification
Further training:
* Knowledge of medical terminology
Knowledge:
* Knowledge of NHS
* Specialist and expert knowledge of Medway PAS information system, Synertec communication system, and Call Centre technology.
* Computer Skills associated with the above
* Ability to interpret/analyse complex data
* Ability to use spreadsheets
* Current knowledge of NHS issues, understanding of modernisation and targets especially RTT
* Key performance indicators for the following specialist areas; Outpatients, Choose and Book, Outpatient booking processes
* Local outpatient policies including Access policy to enable delivery of staff training
Qualifications:
* Education/ability equivalent to Degree level.
* IHRIM Diploma or equivalent level of knowledge
Experience:
* Patient Admin experience to include OPD clinic/appointments systems and booking systems. Significant supervisory experience (this would equate to two years)
* Leading project areas or work streams in a wide variety of patient admin functions
Contractual requirements:
* Flexible approach to work
