The role
An exciting opportunity to join the Tax Team of a dynamic, fast-growing technology business, supporting its multi-jurisdictional operations and activities. This role will play a critical role in ensuring the Group meets all its global compliance, reporting, and dependent obligations, supporting the business in its ongoing growth. The role will therefore support multiple teams within Deliveroo’s tax organisation. This role is based in the London HQ office, where you will be required to work in the office 3 days a week.
Key responsibilities include:
* Support the Tax team in meeting their ongoing compliance obligations across all taxes (on-the-job training will be provided);
* Assist the Tax team with various administrative tasks, e.g., billing and engagement coordination;
* Coordinate with Treasury to ensure that all tax payments are made on a timely basis;
* Assist the Tax team with data extraction and analysis;
* Assist in the ongoing design of suitable Tax Controls and Governance framework, including maintenance of documented process notes and maps;
* Assist the Tax team with other ad hoc project work as may be required from time to time.
Requirements:
* Professional tax qualification beneficial but not essential;
* Previous experience of employment tax and tax accounting is preferred but not essential provided you have an awareness of both areas;
* Ability to research technical queries by analysing and interpreting tax legislation and HMRC guidance with correct application to the circumstances in question;
* Comfortable with managing, processing, and analysing large amounts of data;
* Ability to manage your own workload and juggle simultaneous projects;
* Good judgement showing logical data-based decision making, and a hands-on approach;
* The ability to work under tight deadlines, managing multiple stakeholders (both internal and external) whilst retaining integrity and attention to detail;
* Exceptional problem-solving and analytical skills;
* A real enthusiasm to get involved in all relevant tax projects;
* Motivation and strong self-direction, with a structured and methodical approach to achieving results.
