About the Opportunity
We are recruiting for a Tool Maker/CNC Machinist to join a highly respected engineering test and development consultancy that works at the forefront of automotive and advanced engineering industries. This is a fantastic opportunity to be part of a skilled team supporting cutting-edge testing, development, and prototyping projects by manufacturing precision components and fixtures.
The Role
As a Tool Maker/CNC Machinist, you will manufacture a variety of precision components, from nuts and bolts to large test fixtures and customer part modifications. The role involves a mix of turning, milling, bench fitting, and some fabrication, with a focus on XYZ CNC machines and Protract programming.
Key Responsibilities
* Machining precision one-off and small-batch parts (up to 10-20 max).
* Working with aluminium, steel, and some plastics.
* Operating CNC lathes (3-axis XYZ, Protract) and milling machines.
* Performing manual tool changes and 8-station auto tool changes on CNC machines.
* Programming with Fusion 360 CAD/CAM (training available).
* Carrying out bench fitting and minor fabrication work as needed.
* Reading and interpreting engineering drawings and working independently to complete tasks.
