Solutions4Health are delighted to be offering the role of Stop Smoking Advisor in Berkshire. This is a full-time job with a salary of £24,960 per annum.
The Stop Smoking Advisor is central to the effective operation of the local team and will deliver client-led smoking cessation treatment via one-to-one, virtual and face-to-face appointments. You'll play a vital role in helping individuals transform their lives by quitting smoking and providing expert advice to empower people to overcome nicotine addiction and lead healthier lives.

The role requires high levels of organisation, excellent communication skills, IT literacy and a positive approach to customer service. The successful candidate must have enthusiasm for helping others, have a clean driving licence and be willing to travel across Berkshire where necessary.
Full training will be provided to ensure the post-holder is competent to support across a range of areas.
Main duties of the job
MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Explain to clients the principles of Stop Smoking so that they can make an informed choice regarding their treatment.
2. Motivate and empower clients to make behaviour changes.
3. Deliver a client-led treatment plan in concordance with national and local guidelines, effectively and professionally. This will include CO monitoring, the completion of accurate data to comply with NICE guidelines, and a comprehensive account of weekly interventions.
4. Deliver telephone and face-to-face support for clients.
5. Prescribe and distribute Nicotine Replacement Therapy products based on client needs.
6. Monitor outcomes of treatment programmes for their effectiveness.
7. Accurately input and maintain the service’s database systems.
8. Develop and maintain close working relationships with key stakeholders and partners.
9. Ensure a commitment to own personal development by attending all team meetings and training as required and keeping up to date with research and best practices.
10. Engage confidently and effectively with a vast spectrum of individuals and interest groups.
11. Continue and build new partnerships with existing and new stakeholders.
12. Commitment to addressing healthcare inequalities, and successfully reaching out to vulnerable groups within the community.
13. Plan and organise workload, including the management of a caseload.
14. Deliver one-to-one, face-to-face clinics, which will have an emphasis on supporting clients from local communities.
15. Actively participate in promotional events which may include weekend working.
16. Work with local schools and colleges to understand and address smoking rates in young people.
17. Support the design and delivery of workshops, presentations, and educational sessions in schools, community centres and other locations to promote the service.

Person Specification
Education and Qualification
* A certified NCSCT Smoking Cessation Practitioner is desirable.
Knowledge and Skills
* Knowledge of behaviour change models
* An understanding of health inequalities within the local area
* A strong understanding of the impact of smoking on health
* Knowledge of current trends in smoking and vaping among young people
* Ability to understand and respect the diverse cultural backgrounds of people, tailoring support to meet their specific needs.
* Ability to build rapport and trust with a wide variety of people, making them feel comfortable and respected.
* Knowledge of the local area of Berkshire
* Proficiency in techniques like motivational interviewing to encourage behaviour change and support people in their journey to quit smoking
Experience
* IT skills and experience with data inputting
* Training will be provided; this role requires the successful candidate to undertake considerable online training including smoking cessation NCSCT level 2 training, safeguarding and other training as agreed with the line manager.
Other
* Full Clean Driving Licence (no more than 3 points)
* The ability to travel and transport equipment between clinics across Berkshire
