Mechanical Maintenance Engineer
Recra is currently partnering with a leading food manufacturer to recruit a Shift Maintenance Engineer who will join their proficient team.
The chosen candidate will be a highly skilled and self-motivated individual focused on continuous improvement, tasked with providing outstanding maintenance support to two factories on-site.
This role involves a 4 on 4 off shift pattern that alternates between day and night shifts.
Responsibilities of the role:
* Ensuring that plant and equipment downtime is minimised and building upkeep is maximised through efficient response times, continuous improvements, data acquisition, and analysis.
* Executing and completing internal maintenance projects and continuous improvement activities.
* Addressing breakdowns effectively, managing both temporary and permanent repairs as well as modifications.
* Performing routine planned maintenance and monitoring, along with rectifying all maintenance issues that arise during the shift.
* Keeping engineering stock up to date and at the required stock levels.
* Managing and enhancing standards of Health and Safety, hygiene, quality, and food safety.
The ideal candidate:
* Mechanical Bias with basic electrical skills
* High capability in mechanical diagnostic/fault finding and applying remedial work in those contexts.
* Demonstrable effective analytical & problem-solving skills in an FMCG or food environment.
* Qualifications such as BTEC/City & Guilds or equivalent in Engineering
* Demonstrable aptitude and ability in all technical aspects of the job.
* Self-motivation, drive, and determination to deliver results on time and within budget.
* A calm and professional demeanour, leading by example and capable of building relationships with key stakeholders.
* Good team player skills, with the ability to manage responsibilities solo on shift when required.
* A consistent approach in handling issues.
Work Schedule:
12-hour shifts - Continentals - Days/Nights rotation
